Lady Design: decorative Jotun finishes for feature walls

Lady Design is Jotun's range of decorative interior effects. Instead of a flat colour, it gives a wall depth, sheen or a hand worked look. Most homes use it on one feature wall rather than a whole room, so a little goes a long way.

The finishes we stock

• Lady Design Prestige Gold, Silver, Copper and Bronze: metallic finishes that catch the light. Popular behind a TV, on a drawing room feature wall or in an entrance.
• Lady Design Pearl Base: a soft pearl sheen, tinted to your colour, for a gentler shimmer than the metallics.
• Lady Design Romano: a textured decorative effect with a stone like, hand finished look.
• Lady Design Stucco Antique Base: for an aged, antique plaster look.
• Lady Design Glaze Base: a tintable glaze used over other effects to add depth and tone.

Where these finishes work best

Feature walls in living rooms, bedroom headboard walls, reception areas, restaurants and offices. They are not a good idea in wet areas like bathrooms. For kitchens and bathrooms, a washable emulsion such as Fenomastic Hygiene from our interior wall paint range is more practical.

How decorative finishes are applied

These effects depend on a smooth, well prepared wall. The usual order is primer, then Stucco Putty to level the wall, then a suitable base coat, then the decorative layer applied with a trowel, brush or sponge depending on the effect. Technique changes the look a lot, so for a large or important wall we recommend an experienced applicator. Always follow the product instructions.

Colours and quantity

Tintable bases such as Pearl, Glaze and Stucco Antique are mixed to your colour. The final price depends on the colour and tint used, and mixed products cannot be returned. Because a feature wall is small, ask us for the right pack size before buying. Our room calculator can help with the base coat litres.
