Shangrila blinds: soft light with a graceful look
Shangrila blinds are sometimes called shade or sheer shading blinds. They have soft fabric vanes held between two sheer layers. When the vanes are open, filtered daylight comes through the sheer. Turn them closed and you get privacy. When raised, the blind rolls up neatly at the top.
Why people choose Shangrila
- A softer look: they feel closer to curtains than to a hard slatted blind.
- Glare control: the sheer layers soften strong sunlight instead of letting it fall straight on the floor and furniture.
- Privacy with light: useful in rooms facing the street where you still want daylight.
Which rooms suit them
- Drawing rooms and formal lounges, where the look matters as much as function.
- Master bedrooms, for a calm, soft feel in the day. For a dark room at night, some people pair them with a blackout option or choose blackout roller blinds.
- Offices and reception areas that want a tidy, gentle finish.
Shangrila or zebra?
Both give you light and privacy from one blind. Zebra blinds use flat alternating bands and have many printed designs. Shangrila blinds use soft vanes and look fuller and more fabric-like. If you cannot decide, see both at our shop.
Measuring and fitting
Decide on an inside fit in the recess or an outside fit on the wall. Measure the recess or wall area, not the glass. If you measure yourself, the sizes are your responsibility. If you book a home visit, our team measures and takes responsibility. The small visit fee is adjusted in your bill when you order. Our own team then delivers and fits in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Shangrila blinds are made to measure for your window, so they cannot be returned. We check sizes and colour with you before making them.

What are Shangrila blinds?
They are fabric blinds with soft vanes held between two sheer layers. You can open the vanes for filtered light or close them for privacy.
What is the price of Shangrila blinds in Islamabad?
They are made to your window size, so the price depends on the size and fabric. WhatsApp your window sizes and we will give you a quote.
What is the difference between Shangrila and zebra blinds?
Both control light and privacy. Zebra blinds use flat alternating bands, while Shangrila blinds use soft vanes for a fuller, curtain-like look.
Do Shangrila blinds make a room dark?
They soften and filter light rather than block it. For a dark bedroom, blackout roller blinds are a better choice.
